Assessments

Grading is by a ten-point scale:

93=A / 90=A- / 87=B+ / 83=B / 80=B- / 77=C+ / 73=C / 70=C- / 67=D+ / 63=D / 60=D- / below=F.

Assessment Weight
Weekly homework - Weekly homework will be a reflection, writing, codeing, etc based on the conecpts for the week. Weekly homework must be completed individually or in groups. You will receive a graded response to your homework. Due dates will usually be the following Sunday before 11:59pm from when it was assigned. 50%
Weekly quizzes - At the end of most weeks, students will answer a brief set of questions about the material covered in the week’s lectures, exercises, and associated readings. These are to be completed out of class, before 11:59pm the Sunday after the week they are assigned. 20%
Labs - In addition to the assigned material in preparation for lectures, students are expected to complete individual or group exercises related to the concepts taught in class. Beyond reinforcing foundational knowledge, these activities involve creative or practical thinking through (1) peer instruction/problem solving (e.g., specifying and implementing filters) and (2) strategic problem solving (e.g., designing multi-stage systems). These exercises are designed to be done during the Friday Hands-On Lab days. 10%
Project - There will be a project assigned at the end of the semester bringing several concepts together. That will be done in groups or individually. It will be due before May 6th at 11:59pm 20%

There will be no mid-term or final exams in this course.

Late Policy

Late assignments are not graded unless arrangements prior to the deadline are made with the instructor.
